Q: How do I get a Domain Name? (example: www.mywebsite.com)

Step 2 – Domain search & Availability
In the “domain search” box, type in the name that you would like to register. Many of the popular domains will already be registered, so be prepared to use your imagination and consider alternative domain endings (like: .eu, .biz, .uk.com).

For this example I entered: www.my-web-site.com - And then clicked the button below marked “search”

You will then be presented with the results of your search.

If a domain name is marked as “taken” – the domain name is unavailable. If however there is an “available” next to your domain name, simply tick the box next to the name you would like to buy and then click on “add to basket”.

Add as many names as you may need, and when you are ready to continue click the button “ok, let’s continue”

Step 3 – Choose your extras
You may require extra facilities from your domain name, for this example we don’t require any extras so we will continue anyway, click the button marked “ok, let’s continue” when you are ready.

Step 4 – Review your basket
Here is an overview of your shopping basket including registration costs – if you are happy to proceed, click the button marked “ok, let’s sign in”

Step 5 – Create an account
Setting up an account is very easy and will take just a few minutes. Simply, enter your contact details into the form provided and click the button marked “continue to payment” when you are ready to proceed.

Step 6 – Payment details
Now enter your payment details to confirm the purchase of your domain names. 123reg.co.uk accepts all major credit cards such as MASTERCARD, VISA, DELTA, MAESTRO SWITCH, SOLO, AMERICAN EXPRESS & even PAYPAL!

Enter in your payment details and click “pay now” to confirm.

Congratulations that is it. You are now the proud owner of a domain name!
